With the passing of the Equality Act, there are 11 million people in the UK with some form of hearing loss. That is approximately one in six of the population. Furthermore, there are 250,000 people in the UK whose first or preferred language is BSL. Zebra Uno recognised there was a far-reaching social need.
Businesses and public bodies require expert advice and technical services in order to offer equal access to Deaf people. Consequently, Zebra Uno Limited was formed in 2003.

We have an extensive network of both Deaf and hearing experienced in-vision language service professionals to call upon, to provide high quality on-screen translation of your media content into BSL.
We are able to create bespoke training packages in the field of media. We provide training which includes filmmaking, covering both pre-production and post-production for all ages. We have also delivered workshops on making films using smart phone technology, basic media, subtitling, etc.
The delivery of the project was well organised, as well receiving a professional friendly service. The DVD of the project is a good and helpful starting point for the parent to learn to sign.
Zebra Uno produced a behind-the-scenes web video for BSL Zone in 2014. We found them to be professional and responsive and hope to work with them again.
BSLBTZebra Uno produced a highly professional and accessible video that introduces visitors to our museum. It is detailed yet not saturated, and allows potential visitors the ability to understand the museum space, gallery themes and collection before even stepping foot into the museum. The video is fully signed and the subtitles allow deaf and hard of hearing to understand and appreciate the video’s contents. Zebra Uno have been easy to work with and very proficient in video creation.
Coventry Transport MuseumThe media workshop was fun, educational and inspiring. I have made several documentaries for the BBC and BSLBT as a freelance director and I'm currently directing my debuted drama which will be broadcasted on FilmFour.
Deaf visitor numbers have risen since the museum's award-winning initiatives. There is little question that BSL video museum guides widen the uses of technology to serve Deaf visitor access.

The Zebra Uno team worked efficiently and seamlessly with our team and detailed project brief to produced an excellent high quality video as part of our Hate Crime awareness campaign. The quality and content of the final video edition was exceptional and we owe the success of the project to the production team, as well as to the actors who were involved in each of the scenes.
